Multicultural Mediation Training

15 people are completing the first multicultural 40 hour certificate mediation training at the Parkside Neighborhood Center. The group, from countries around the globe are committed to bringing mediation to their communities as well as the residents of the Parkside neighborhood. Many are residents of Parkside, some speak several languages. There are also pastors from the community and others who are leaders in their communities.

The Opportunity Alliance Sponsors Multicultural Mediation Training

15 Attend 40 Hour Certificate Program

 

PORTLAND (September, 2014) 15 people are completing the first multicultural 40 hour certificate mediation training at the Parkside Neighborhood Center. The group, from countries around the globe are committed to bringing mediation to their communities as well as the residents of the Parkside neighborhood. Many are residents of Parkside, some speak several languages. There are also pastors from the community and others who are leaders in their communities.

 

The Opportunity Alliance’s Family and Community Mediation Services provides trained volunteer mediators to help people defuse potentially destructive conflicts.  This program is run entirely on private donations sought through grants and fundraising efforts.  Mediation is free and open to anyone who needs the service regardless of ability to pay.
