TD Charitable Foundation Supports Parkside Neighborhood Center with Donation

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, recently donated a total of $10,000 to the Parkside Neighborhood Center as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community.

The Parkside Neighborhood Center is a place where residents of the community are able to access needed resources and connect with neighbors in a safe and welcoming environment. The Center works to strengthen individuals and families by offering educational and cultural opportunities to connect diverse neighbors and promote social and physical well-being. Its programming adapts to emerging needs in the community.

The funds from the TD Charitable Foundation will help to fund youth programming at the Center including the After-School program for grades 1 through 5 and provide emergency assistance for Parkside residents for such things as food, transportation, clothing, and diapers. The Parkside Neighborhood Center and other neighborhood “hubs” are an integral part of The Opportunity Alliance’s strategic plan, which includes the development of neighborhood centers that are open and accessible to residents seeking services and community supports. The plans used to build up the Parkside Neighborhood Center will be used to help strengthen communities in other locations throughout Cumberland County, including the Redbank/Brickhill neighborhoods of South Portland and in the Lakes Region.

A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® and the TD Charitable Foundation provide support to affordable housing, financial literacy and education, and environmental initiatives, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.
