Portland's Newest Education Initiative

United Way of Greater Portland, The Opportunity Alliance, the City of Portland and others collaborate on a new set of education initiatives called ConnectED.

“Education is the single most powerful means to improve the quality of life…the single most powerful weapon against poverty and intolerance. Education builds a culture of peace…it empowers human beings, both young and adult, to be effective in their chosen sphere of activity…education in its essence, opens doors to both personal and social development.” –Federico Mayor Zaragoza, former Director-General of UNESCO

Portland Mayor Michael Brennan has unveiled education initiatives that will be driven and implemented by various community partners, including The Opportunity Alliance.

Information can be found on the United Way of Greater Portland website.
