Reaccreditation by COA

The Opportunity Alliance Reaccredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).  After a year-long process whereby the policies and practices of our entire agency were scrutinized against the rigorous standards of the Council on Accreditation, The Opportunity Alliance has been reaccredited.

The Council on Accreditation (COA) noted that The Opportunity Alliance had met or exceeded the rigorous standards necessary to remain accredited as a child and family services and behavioral health care agency.  “This is an affirmation that as an organization we have used best practice standards in all aspects of our organization,” noted Mike Tarpinian, President and CEO of The Opportunity Alliance, “that our approaches are based on collaborative models between TOA and the people who seek our supports and treatment as well as provider networks, and that we are strong administratively and financially.”

COA is an international, independent accrediting organization that partners with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting accreditation standards.  COA evaluates organizations against best-practice standards, which are developed using a consensus model with input from a wide range of service providers, funders, experts, policymakers and consumers.

Documentation of all policies as well as all client records was an important part of COA’s review of our programming.  COA noted in its report that all of TOA’s documentation complies with all federal and state requirements.
