Morrison Place

Residential Treatment Program

Mother and Son - Morrison Place

At Morrison Place, we help clients to achieve recovery

and lead sober, stable lives through education and group and individual counseling. Throughout their time at Morrison Place, clients learn to build strong relationships with peers, family and friends, and other individuals throughout the community.

Morrison Place, with a capacity of 12 adults, provides transitional housing and treatment for homeless individuals who have a major mental illness and/or a substance use disorder. Through a structured, peer-oriented program the staff at Morrison Place assist clients in maintaining recovery while moving from an intensive rehabilitation setting to increased independence and integration into the community.

The program works to address the complex needs of the clients, utilizing an integrated, individualized, and client-centered approach 24 hours a day, led by staff trained in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and mental health and substance use treatment. The staff work with clients to help them develop coping skills and identify the of behaviors which contribute to homelessness.  To help individuals stabilize and develop goals that will move them toward the most independent, supportive, permanent living situation possible, staff and clients work together to develop individual care plans.

The program provides continuous support, structure, and intervention to individuals whose dual diagnosis can cause immediate crises related to substance abuse, chronic mental illness, or the complex interaction of these two problems.  The staff on site 24 hours a day is trained in crisis intervention, mental health assessment, and substance abuse issues and treatment.

Clients leave Morrison Place with a firm base of sobriety, stability, permanent housing, a source of income, strong supports, improved self-awareness, and healthy coping skills that lead to improved functioning in the community.
